Standards updates


New practice standard

The BCCNM board has approved a new practice standard for RNs and RPNs. The standard outlines the accountabilities and expectations for providing safe nursing care when performing any activities related to screening and diagnostic tests & imaging. Effective Nov. 25, 2024.

RN Scope of Practice updated

The BCCNM board rescinded the Standards for Delegating to Registered Nurses and the delegation agreement between BCCNM and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC regarding Activities Approved for Delegation to Registered Nurses. Effective immediately.

Are you interested in serving on a BCCNM committee?

BCCNM is currently accepting applications for our regulatory committees, for terms beginning March 1, 2025. Committees typically comprise both members of the public and registrants, who each serve one, two, or three year terms.

As we seek to diversify our committees, we especially welcome applicants who: identify as Indigenous, as racialized minorities in Canada; are from 2SLGBTQIA+ communities; have lived experience accommodating, supporting, or navigating diverse abilities; are from under-represented socio-economic backgrounds; or who are internationally educated. Express your interest by Nov. 1, 2024 to be considered in the current recruitment cycle.
