NP Regulatory Framework Project Update: The future of NP practice in Canada

The Nurse Practitioner Regulatory Framework Implementation project will change NP regulation in Canada. The latest project update provides answers to frequently asked questions about:

  • How will NPs be prepared for practice across clients’ lifespans and across practice settings;
  • What type of entry-to-practice education will future NPs receive; and
  • Whether nursing regulators will remove specialty practices for NPs

Government ends COVID-19 public-health emergency, introduces new vaccine registry

The provincial government has ended the COVID-19 public-health emergency and the COVID-19 vaccine mandate in public health-care settings. Moving forward, public health-care employees will be required to disclose their COVID-19 and influenza immunization status through a provincial registry.

BCCSU hosting BC ECHO on Substance Use sessions

These monthly virtual sessions include a lecture, patient case presentation, and interdisciplinary discussion. Registration is free. The next session on Sept. 26 will focus on considerations for treating youth who use substances.

Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates


BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
