The BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) reviews nursing and midwifery education programs/courses under the authority set out in the Health Professions Act (HPA) to establish the conditions or requirements for registration of a person as a member of the college.
For templates or more information about BCCNM's education program review or any of the documents listed below, please contact Education Program Review at educationprogramreview@bccnm.ca.
BCCNM Updates for Educators
BCCNM Education Program Review periodically sends updates to educators that include college news and initiatives that may impact education programs.
Substantial changes to education programs
BCCNM-recognized education programs considering a change to a recognized nursing or midwifery education program should review Section 7.0 of the
education program review policies. The educational institution is responsible for notifying BCCNM of any proposed change using the Substantial Change Consultation Form and is expected to obtain board recognition for the change prior to implementing the change. If an educational institution makes a substantial change before it is reviewed by BCCNM and recognized by the board, the educational institution cannot assume that the graduates of the program will be eligible for registration with BCCNM.
