Latchman, Errol, RN

Consent agreement

Mar 1, 2024

On March 1, 2024, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Errol Latchman, RN (the registrant) of New Westminster to address conduct issues that occurred with his nursing practice in August 2023, relating to him assaulting a vulnerable patient under his care in the emergency room. More specifically, the registrant threw activated charcoal at the patient and assaulted them in the face with a closed fist. This assault was preceded by the patient initially assaulting the registrant.

The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on his practice, including:

a. A suspension of his registration for one month.

b. A condition on his registration that he successfully complete comprehensive remedial courses in anger management and ethics.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
