Danchak, Matthew, RN

Consent agreement

Mar 1, 2023

On March 1, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Matthew Danchak of Kamloops, B.C., to address practice and conduct issues that occurred on March 23, 2022, when he sexually harassed a student nurse under his supervision, and for accessing a colleague's computer contrary to privacy and confidentiality requirements.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A public reprimand and suspension of their nursing registration for one month;

  2. A limit prohibiting them from providing regulatory supervision to nursing students or orienting new staff members to the work environment for a period of 6 months;

  3. A  condition  requiring  completion  of  Sensitivity  Training:  Sexual  Harassment  in  the Workplace.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
