On August 25, 2022, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Davia Vancaillie of Armstrong, B.C. to address practice issues that occurred between July 3 and October 27, 2020, related to the Registrant signing for medication not administered on nine occasions, falsely documenting her colleagues signatures on records during the wasting of narcotics on at least five occasions, using her phone to check social media, and failing to adequately document and/or assess three patient falls. The Registrant provided a letter of apology to her employer and engaged in remedial education and other measures while investigation was underway.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
A suspension of their nursing registration for 3 weeks;
A limit prohibiting them from being the sole regulated nurse (RN/LPN) on duty, working in-charge of their unit or facility, supervising students, or orientating new staff members for 6 months and working night shift for 3 months;
Indirect supervision of their nursing practice for 3 months.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
